Fifty Shades of Grey Red Room Collection Ankle Cuffs
Tie me up

These cuffs look impressive even at first glance. Part of a beautiful matching set, they come in a lovely cream drawstring bag for storage, and have a delicious rich brown and gold colour scheme.
There is a smooth, leathery smell which lets you know they're the real deal. I would have liked if these cuffs had the option of coming in other colour schemes, as they don't match a lot of my other gear, but they definitely look good nonetheless, and there is always the option of purchasing the rest of the set.
The huge benefit of these cuffs is that they are deliciously comfortable. They feel lovely against the skin, and the lining is padded in a way that means they'll be comfortable at any angle. These are so buttery smooth that even after the session I didn't want to take them off!
With other cuffs, I have found that they have a tendency to not stay tight against the ankle, but the buckle system on these means that they stay firm and secure at all times. They fit a wide range of ankle sizes, so you shouldn't have any trouble getting these to sit beautifully no matter how big or small you are.
They are attached by a gold chain which can be removed from each individual cuff, meaning you can use just one cuff tied to a bedpost or use the chain to attach the cuffs to any other bondage equipment you want to include (the restraints are compatible with the rest of the Fifty Shades range). The chain is relatively short but not restrictively so as other pairs tend to be, meaning you could still stand in these if needed and giving an increased set of possibilities such as attaching these to a set of handcuffs. One small complaint, though, is that I would expected the gold chain to appear of slightly higher quality for the price.
Apart from that, quality of the manufacturing is, as far as can be told, perfect. The stitches and belt holes are uniform and neat, and after use these cuffs show no signs of wear. If you buy these, you can expect to be using them for a long time.
Overall, these are great pair of stylish, high quality cuffs that are truly outstanding in terms of both appearance and comfort. Are they worth the price? They'll certainly last long enough to make up for it, and the difference in feel and look from my other pairs is relatively remarkable, but it must be said that functionally other, cheaper cuffs will work just as well, albeit without as much style. Are you looking for a truly exceptional product to invest in? Then these are the cuffs for you.
- Great quality, deliciously comfortable, durable.
- Could have different colour scheme, chain could be slightly better quality.
- Bottom line
- A great pair of cuffs that will last you years.

Fifty Shades of Steampunk

So, we all know my stance on Fifty Shades. As such, I'm the perfect candidate for an objective and unbiased review on anything bedroom related associated with the Fifty Shades franchise. And that's what I'm going to give.
I've tested some of the other Fifty Shades stuff, and it's alright, y'know? Pretty much the same can be said from what I've seen with the Red Room Collection. The short of it is, whilst these are wonderful luxury products, about 40% of the price is just for the branding, and I personally would never pay that. Hardcore fans will, that's what the line relies on, but if I'm honest? Settle for something without the name.
I was both impressed and antsy with the cuffs right from the packaging: a monogrammed canvas drawstring bag. Quite the pretty, in a subdued way, and great for storing the cuffs in at home, but.... That was it. Which means in the warehouse they have to be stored incredibly carefully, and are at risk of getting damaged. There was nothing wrong with mine, but it's just a bit of a worry. A hard box outer would be nice, and reassuring.
The cuffs themselves are delightful. The instant smell is of rich leather, and the feel of the lining against the fingertips is so, so soft. They're nicely flexible and buttery soft. Against your skin.... mmm.
The outers and the straps are slightly harder leather, toughened for durability but still of wonderful quality. It's a bit of a downside that the colour is decidedly brown, as the name of the line lends itself to a ruby/wine red, but, no biggie, I guess. Very steampunk-esque. Hence the title...
The lining is attached to the outer with fold-over seams on both parts, stitched together super neatly and tightly. I know a big draw to this 'limited edition' line is that they're hand-made, but I really don't think they are. It's far too regular and tight, so at the very least are machine awled. It’s not a negative exactly, and to me ensures a longer lasting product, but...
I'm disappointed by the straps too, as they are not hemmed or seamed in any way. Whilst fraying isn't really an issue with leather, it just looks a bit raw and unfinished compared with the decadence of the rest of the leather work. But, they have plenty of holes to fit a wide range of sizes, and are comfy as anything once on.
The only branding on the cuffs is 'Fifty Shades of Grey' embossed into the ends of the straps. Tasteful. I can deal.
The metal finishings are an outright letdown. Brass coloured fits wonderfully with the colour scheme, but the material chosen is a tacky yellow, and it's very badly finished: they metal is rough, dull and has discolouration. Some of it can be polished out, but if I'm dropping £100 on a pair of cuffs, I shouldn't have to be doing that. I expect the best out of luxury items, and sadly, this isn't it.
So yeah, they're strong. Soft. Sexy. They're durable, and will last a lifetime with proper care (which they'll need to maintain the butter softness). They look pretty damn fine, and they make me feel like a princess. But they aren't worth £100. You're paying almost entirely for the branding, and for that price I'd expect better metalwork, a leather care kit, and maybe a hard box too. I don't know, maybe I have high expectations and standards, but... It's expensive.
They are a luxury item, and they feel almost entirely the part. You just really have to have the money, or the dedication, to splash out on them, especially if you want a matching set.
- Beautiful quality leather, so soft. Strong restraint too.
- Metal: let down. Price: inflated. Straps: look unfinished.
- Bottom line
- A lovely luxury product, but too many letdowns for the price.
