    1. If You Orgasm Through Dry Humping, Buy This

Reviewed: 10 May 2016 by popk1n, a Straight Going Steady Female

We’ve all seen those vibrators that basically sell because of some sort of “novelty” that often is just a gimmick and doesn’t actually work for its whole purpose of bringing an orgasm. This toy perhaps does fall into the “here’s our novelty selling point” category… but this one actually works! Thank the inventor of this toy, erotic author and artist Tabitha Rayne, for that.

This is the first toy I’ve received which arrived in a properly “nice” box. It looks sleek, simple and classy and doesn’t scream sex toy at a glance. I wish that there was some sort of storage pouch included, but that’s a wish I have with every toy I buy!

When I opened it up, my first thought about this toy is that it is the weirdest-looking vibrator I have ever seen. I wouldn’t know what to guess it to be if I didn’t know what it was - perhaps this could be considered strangely discreet in that regard. It is only about as long as my hand, so isn’t a huge toy, and it is definitely more lightweight than I was expecting.

Despite its light weight, this toy does feel very sturdy - I wouldn’t really know how to break it, and if you are a little on the…um… heavier side, I don’t think you’d be in danger of breaking it. The silicone surface is rather velvety smooth and has minimal drag, meaning your clitoris will hopefully not get too irritated if you choose to use this toy without clothes.

The only downside of this lovely silicone is that it pretty much the definition of particle magnet (dust and hairs are the worst offenders). For this reason, it is paramount that a full soap and water is administered after every use.

As it says in the description, this is a “ride on” vibrator, so to use it you literally just sit on it. I will be honest, this toy doesn’t 100% fit my anatomy. Literally every woman has a different sized/shaped vulva, so obviously Rocks Off aren’t miracle-workers, so this will not fit every woman’s shape (my vulva is small, with an average-sized clitoris I think).

However, the fit is still acceptable and since you will most likely grind around a bit, there is a bit of leeway in regards to the actual dimensions. I don’t think you can really do any measuring of yourself, I think you’ll just have to try it out and see.

The very top of the ridged clitoral bump curves inwards slightly and actually falls above my clit and hits my pubic crotch bone area. This can be painful if grinded against too much, so sometimes I have to make an active effort to keep in a good position. When I am in the right position, I love this vibrator! The vaginal bump should be good for all. It isn’t supposed to be an actual penetrative bump. It just makes the toy fit the contours of your body more comfortably.

Inserting batteries and usability of the buttons et cetera is super easy and very self-explanatory, there are two buttons, one for each motor, so you click them to cycle through the settings.

The only downside to the buttons is that there is no up/down option, which means with 10 vibration settings for each motor, make sure you don’t skip too far, because you’ll have cycle right back through them all again to get to what you want. When you click the batteries both in place, the toy makes a slight, quick buzz, like it’s letting you know that you’ve turned it on, so if you’re using this as a surprise of some form, have the batteries inserted first so there’s no tell-tale buzz.

The vibration settings are the same 10 in each motor, but for all the patterns bar one, the two motors do the pattern at the opposite time. Generally, the vibrations are of a mid-strength and slightly buzzy. The vaginal motor is noticeably weaker and buzzier than the clitoral motor. I can get off on these types of vibrations, especially with grinding, but magic wand users will probably find these way too weak. If you can get off by rubbing your clit with your fingers, I think you should be able to make this work, as grinding is a similar type of stimulation to manual.

A lot of the patterns merge together and you forget which is which (even more so in the vaginal motor), though there is one pattern that doesn’t actually have any pauses in, it is actually constant, which is less annoying than most patterns. The strongest single speed I find to be my favourite. The two weaker single speeds are too weak in my opinion.

The vibrations feel a lot more powerful when you are naked, instead of wearing clothes, so that is my preferred way of using. I have found that since this is all about the clitoral orgasm with this toy, it doesn’t actually matter what setting the vaginal motor is on. The vibrations are kind of loud in general (but probably of average loudness for the type of vibration), so definitely do not use if there is someone in your house who you would prefer not to hear you.

I really love using this facing forward on a chair. The toy doesn’t move around, despite much enthusiastic grinding. It works with my legs either spread wide or pressed shut. It finds my clitoris whichever way. I wore a butt plug with it (though pick one with a small, squishy base so it doesn’t get in the way).

I tried whilst on my period and the strongest single speed managed to make me orgasm on more than one occasion through a sanitary towel. A huge perk also is that I don’t get tired in the same way I would normally if using a suction-cup dildo or something, so if you’re unfit like me, don’t worry, this is a good, lazy sex toy. Also, I would best advise for solo scenarios, not as a “performance” toy, since when in use, you can barely see it.

The thing I adore most about this toy is that, as someone who orgasms often with my partner through dry-humping and such, this toy replicated that experience even when my partner wasn’t there, and the hands-free option allowed me to fantasise more strongly. If you get off in that way with your partner, I would highly, highly recommend this toy for you - no other vibrator has quite offered me that same solo experience and replication!

    2. Overall Rating:
      9 out of 10 stars
      Pros
Offered a new experience/new fantasy options, easy to use, vibrations strong enough for me.
      Cons
Vibrations will be too weak for some people, didn't fit my vulva 100%.
      Bottom line
Innovative... one for the clitoral grinders.

    1. Ruby didn't make me glow

Reviewed: 27 March 2016 by LittleSwitchBitch, a Bisexual Married Female

Ever since the Ruby Glow has appeared on my computer screen, it’s intrigued the hell outta me! It appears to be, from pictures and anything I’ve read, the perfect answer to get a hands-free orgasm. It sounded like music to my ears, we all go through phases of lazy wanking, have Rocks Off created the perfect solution?

It arrives beautifully packaged - black, shiny, textured box which has a window allowing the Ruby Glow to be visible immediately. The box features a piece on how the Ruby Glow was originally invented by Tabitha Rayne, an erotic writer, instructions and also a link on how to download some of Tabitha’s work. On retrieving the toy from the box, slide out the card it's lying on too- on the back it offers ideas for various positions Ruby can be used in as well as care instructions. As well as that there is also a book advertising more of the Rocks Off range and an code to activate the 6 month warranty.

Ruby is coated in velvety smooth silicone, meaning the toy is 100% body safe. It comprises of two mounds, one with ridges designed with the clitoris in mind and another mound which essentially looks like a half a ball, and is designed to stimulate the perineum. Though, it's down to preference in my opinion on how they are used. On the front of the ridged mound, there are two teardrop shaped buttons. Top one operates the perineal mound and the bottom, the clitoral stimulator. Each section can be worked together or independently depending on your preference. The toy needs 2xAAA batteries to work, which come supplied with the toy - just take out the clear disc.

The box claims it can be used through clothing, so I decided to test that bit first. I can’t say it was very exciting, I felt a mild buzz through my jeans, but certainly not enough to get me off. So after a quick wash, I swiftly moved on to trying naked. As I was in my room at the time, I opted to use it on the floor, I lubed the toy up slightly as well as me and knelt down. Flicking through all 10 patterns, some of which are quite powerful, they still aren’t enough for me to get my Rocks Off, sadly. I found grinding against the ridged peak felt amazing against my clitoris and definitely heightened my arousal. Other times, I tried it on a chair, which it’s actually intended for but I wouldn’t really encourage you, to do so in a crowded house as it enhances the noise. I must admit do like to rock myself on it, as a warm up toy. I enjoy the build up I get from the tease.

I think the toy has so much potential - the quality of the silicone used, creates such a seam-free surface to the actual shape of the Ruby Glow ticks so many boxes for me. If I wasn’t such a power hungry queen, it would be the perfect toy to knock my socks off. I would highly recommend to others who don’t enjoy powerful toys. I do hope a Ruby 2 is created with more powerful vibrations as I’d be quick to hop on it. I do however, feel it would be a fantastic addition to anyone interested in tease and denial as anytime I’ve used it, it makes me reminisce of playtime with my OH, when he’s feeling mean and fancies teasing me!

Clean up requires a little care as it’s only splashproof, meaning you need to take caution around the battery area and well as that, be careful with the lube application for the same reason. Speaking of lube, don’t use a silicone-based lube otherwise you risk damaging the surface of your toy, so I recommend only using water-based to be safe.

I would like to thank Rocks Off for contacting me and giving me the chance to road test the Ruby Glow for them. x
