    1. Another great book by Portia da Costa

I’m a big fan of Portia da Costa. I was looking forward to reading this as soon as it was released. What I love about Portia da Costa books is the characters she creates she gives her characters a past which they eventually overcome in the books.

The book is about a girl called Jess who is a virgin just plodding on through life and she meets the new director of her company and her life changes for good. Through the book there is plenty of humour and sex.

There’s currently is a lot of erotica on sale which contain a lot of BDSM and this made a refreshing change, with only a light BDSM scene witch involved spanking and being tied up.

I loved getting lost in this book and it was a perfect book for reading curled up in bed.

I would recommend Portia da Costa books to anyone looking to read some erotica which has a good story line with great sex scenes.

    2. Overall Rating:
      10 out of 10 stars
A great Story line with plenty of erotic scenes.
      Bottom line
A great erotic read with only one light BDSM scene in the book.

    1. A kinky re-write of the classic love story

Reviewed: 07 April 2015 by fantasia fairy, a Straight Single Female

I've heard a lot about Portia Da Costa books and after only reading the 50 Shades books decided to take the plunge and get this one.

This story is wonderfully written. Portia captures the characters perfectly. It was easy for me to imagine everything in the book and put real faces to the characters.

This story is certainly different from most erotic novels where the leading characters spend all the time screwing and literally flogging the hell out of each other. This was delicate but at the same time fierce. There was never a point in the story where you could sit back and think 'this is maybe taken a little too far'. It's not all about the sex either. It's about the relationship between the characters. It's about them helping each other to find themselves.

Portia has a fantastic way of going deep into detail in the erotic scenes without making it seem too dirty. I more than once had to stop reading and go calm down a bit with a toy.

I guess the best way to put it is that Jess is a character you can relate to. You can understand her and how she is feeling, the urges she gets and the choices she makes.

The ending is fantastic. About halfway though the story you get an idea of how it's going to end only for it to be blown out of the water nearer the end, leaving you totally clueless as to what will really happen right down the the very last sentence.

A great read and very much enjoyed.

    2. Overall Rating:

The subtleness of the sex scenes.
The classic billionaire part. A regular guy would have been better.
      Bottom line
Fantastic, emotional and erotic. Not one to read when your parents are around!

    1. Seductive enough, but echoes Fifty Shades a bit too much

Reviewed: 04 February 2016 by Luv bunny, a Straight Married Female

I am a bit late writing this for Lovehoney, seeing as the book has been discontinued here, but I have only just gotten around to reading it.

Having read In Too Deep by Portia Da Costa, I was keen to read other stories by her. This seemed a good choice as I enjoyed Fifty Shades of Grey despite some of the cringeworthy quotations.

This book has a decent enough plotline. A virgin female (Jess), working for an insurance brokers meets the billionaire tycoon (Ellis McKenna) who has recently acquired the firm where she works.

He has lost his wife and two daughters under tragic circumstances. Not over the grief and guilt of losing them, he is emotionally unavailable for a 'proper' relationship and instead prefers liaisons, as he calls them.

Jess, meanwhile, has put her life on hold, and has not met anyone she considers 'Mr Right'. The story details their lustful encounters, which is mainly vanilla sex, with one scene of light BDSM thrown in towards the end.

The sex scenes are tastefully depicted, and the plot shows the emotional development of the characters. The proofing of the story is not brilliant, however, which is a bit distracting at times.

Overall it's a pleasant enough read before bedtime, but it is quite typical of the genre and theme.

    2. Overall Rating:
      8 out of 10 stars
Easy reading, the emotional development of the characters.
      Terrible proofing by editors.
      Bottom line
      Seductive bedtime reading.
