Universal Voltage Adapter
Essential for travellers

I go through a lot of adapters - small, big, cheap, expensive - and there is something that always bugs me. Most of them don't work with everything. They can work with one product and not the other. It's so frustrating!
I'm using it for UK to EU plugs and I was super happy to find out this one does work with everything I could have thrown at it. That's, a vibrator I charged using my phone adapter (it would have been so nice to have a USB slot too), my phone, a hair straightener and an epilator.
I tried inserting different plugs, both EU and UK, and they all go in with ease. It has locks on both sides for the different ends and they are easy to work. The only one that's not connected to a lock and you just pull out is the one I use. It's the one for Eastern Europe. There are 2 things that need to be mentioned.
First, the plug part for this is longish and thin, making it suitable for different shapes of sockets, and we have a wild variety of these. I've had cases where the pins ended up being too short due to poor design of adapters.
And second, to make it compact the pins fold in, making them movable, and being thin they can get wobbly if you are wiggling whatever you are using too much.
It's great for recharging toys, but I wouldn't say brilliant for a mains wand. Nobody wants to wonder "is it in?" during sexy times! Saying that, if you are using it somewhere with a 3-pin socket, that wouldn't be a problem (we have just 2 here).
While the light feature is neat, what wins the game is the surge protection. We often have power cuts during summer and it's nice to know my precious will be safe when plugged in. Luckily, I haven't had the "chance" to try it as such... yet.
My only real niggle was that it came in a generic Lovehoney plastic bag, with no leaflet or box with information.
For just £4.99 you get a truly universal adapter with a surge protector (I can't stress how good this part is). After all the ones I've broken, I'm confident to say this adapter is a good choice. I'll be taking it with me wherever I end up going next. :)
- The surge protection, compact, perfect length of pins, works with everything!
- It needs to be a little bit more sturdy when using 2 pins.
- Bottom line
- Can't fault it, very useful, worked with everything I have.
