    1. Lush lace

This looks equally as beautiful on as in the packet.

The lace is so soft and comfortable. There is no rubbing on my nipples and it looks stunning.

The colour is natural and shimmers which really covers any body errors.

A bedroom pleaser for sure and would be so sexy under a jacket on a night out!

    1. Classically pretty, a feminine and flattering piece

      Reviewed: 17 January 2016 by Lovebirds_x

First the important part, the fit. I am a size 10 on the top, 12 on the bottom with a 32D bust and an average height of 5’6’’. I opted for the size M/L, which is labelled with a rather broad 10-14 size range.

I found the sizing of this item spot-on all over. The soft lace is stretchy so does have a degree of stretch to fit sizing. It wasn’t stretched at all on me, so I would imagine it would be an excellent fit people at the larger end of the size bracket or who have curvier body types as well.

While the lace would stretch to fit someone taller, I’m not sure it would be a great fit length wise for anyone much shorter than me as the unstretched lace was just the right length for me, and obviously it can’t contract. I do think shorter ladies will find a bit of bagginess in the torso area.

So it fits, but does it flatter? Oh yes!

I was surprised at just how flattering this playsuit was around the bust. Being a halterneck style, I expected it to do the typical injustice halternecks do to larger breasts, namely make them look droopy.

However, the way the neckline/upper portion of the playsuit is cut negates the halterneck sag entirely. The way the curve sits above your bust actually emphasises the roundness of your breasts, tricking the eye into seeing a fuller, more perky bust.

The cut on the legs is highly flattering too. It both emphasises the curve of your hips and adds length to your legs.

I absolutely adore the clever paneling and discreet ruching around the lower half of the playsuit. It manages to both minimise your tummy and emphasise the peachy roundness of your butt, even if like me you don't have a particularly peachy or round butt to start with. Yay!

The delicate pattern on the lace is great for hiding stretch marks and smoothing skin in general. The champagne colour translates to a nude tone with a shimmery, pale champagne gold tint highlighting the flowers in the lace, which adds an additional glow to your skin. Very feminine, very pretty, and surprisingly easy to wear even on my pale as a ghost skin.

The final detail to flatter your body is, of course, the cut out areas. The back cut out is shaped in such a way that it both exposes your sexy lower back area while slimming your waist. The front cut outs over your chest emphasise your delicate collarbone and shoulder area while drawing attention to the lace collar delicately surrounding your neck. They stop the playsuit feeling too ‘covered up’, as some high neck pieces do.

The buttons on the back of the halterneck are absolutely beautiful but are a tad fiddly to do up, even with the loops being elasticated they are still fairly small. The buttons themselves aren’t held on entirely well either, so you may find you need to reinforce the stitching or have a button pop off.

With the buttons done up I found the neck of the playsuit quite a snug fit, which was strange as I have a pretty slim neck. It would of course stretch to fit, though it already felt a little restraining to me so I don’t know how comfortable that stretch would feel. It felt more like a tightly buckled collar to me than a halterneck, which was great for me as it put me into a submissive mood, but obviously some people may not like this.

The last thing I would note would be the gusset. It is a proper, soft, opaque gusset, which adds to the comfort of wearing and adds a sense of not feeling totally exposed. The poppers are an excellent addition, enabling very quick and easy access to your intimate areas while still being strong enough to hold the playsuit securely together. Because of where they are positioned, you can barely feel or see them at all. Definitely a more discreet and classy option than full on crotchless items.

Overall, this is a truly lovely item. The lace is good quality, soft and comfortable, and not at all scratchy despite being somewhat metallic. The stitching, aside from the buttons and the odd loose thread, is great: straight, strong and solid enough to withstand serious wear. The fit is perfect, at least at the lower to middle end of the specified sizes. I felt very slinky, sparkly, and feminine in this classically pretty piece. I would definitely recommend this. The quality far exceeds the price. :)

      10 out of 10 stars
Good quality lace, well made, pretty details, very flattering, gorgeous shimmery colour, perfect fit.
Neck is a snug fit; personal preference dictates if this is a pro/con.
      Bottom line
Very pretty piece, quality exceeds the price. Very easy to wear, flattering and comfortable.

    1. First It Was 'The Dress'; Now, 'The Romper'?

Reviewed: 26 February 2016 by KitsiKiki

I think the utmost important thing to inform the readers about first is the colour: It looks nothing like the photo!

I seriously cannot believe that neither of the other two reviewers (at the time of writing this) even mentioned it! It may have affected my decision to buy this if they had; or at the very least, prepared me for the difference. It might have saved me some heart-sinking disappointment and the struggle to decide whether to send it back straight away or keep it. Hopefully this warning will help someone else avoid or prepare for the same.

The product title, info page, and box all name the colour 'champagne'; Lovehoney categorizes it under 'ivory'; and in the picture it appears almost entirely white/ off-white, even appearing to pretty much perfectly match the model's snow white fingernails. Now, everyone has different opinions, but to me, all of those things would suggest that the product in question is indeed a very pale off-white hue.

It is not. It is very distinctly beige.

I was baffled as to whether I had gotten the wrong colour product in my box; whether the photos are like that one of 'The Dress' and I'm just seeing the colour differently than the other reviewers; or whether because of the shimmery nature of the detailing of the lace, it simply photographs deceptively due to lighting/ background and the company took (ill-advised) advantage of that. I took to my phone’s camera to try and solve this mystery.

I tried photographing it in multiple modes, with different lighting (though I was unable to get anywhere near as bright as a professional studio would be), against different backgrounds, and alongside my skin, two white lace items and a beige lace item for comparison. On only a single occasion was I able to more-or-less replicate the all-over pale effect; on a few more occasions I was able to capture the shimmery detailing in action up close, giving the partial pale effect. But on no occasion was I able to get it to look champagne pale against my skin (which is similar to the model’s), nor to appear to blend in with my white items (like it does with the model’s nails), it always stood out against them, but blended in perfectly with my beige item. So the results were largely inconclusive, though the one picture I snapped where it looks satisfactorily ivory gives me enough doubt to say my second or third theory is plausible.

However, all that aside, I was at once won over by the intricacy of the lace pattern and two-tone detailing up close, as I had been with the photo. So despite the colour not being ideal, I decided to keep it anyway. It is every bit as lovely, if less immediately striking. But I am forced to take away some points for it being so starkly different than the product photos.

Enough about that, you get the picture. On to the fit:

I ordered the M/L size (which boasts a 10-14 range). I am 5’ 2”, with a 34E usual bra size; I usually wear dresses and tops in 10-12, sometimes 14; tights and leggings in M/L; and jeans in 14-16+. This fits me very well. The high leg could perhaps be a little higher for me personally, but other than that, it hugs and frames my shape without squeezing. It does, unsurprisingly, flatten my bust a little bit, but not much and not in an unflattering way.

The buttons at the back of the neck are a little tricky to do up yourself and appear worryingly loose to me, especially since you have to be quite rough with them to get yourself suited up. But you could always reinforce them. There’s elastic in the neck as well, which does mean it grasps your throat with noticeable if gentle force. This could immediately or quickly become unbearable for some. I didn’t mind, but after wearing it out for several hours, it eventually began to chafe a bit and I was very aware of it then. I couldn’t help periodically reaching up and tugging at it.

The popper-close gusset is essential to this piece and pieces like it, in my opinion. Not only does it lend instant access for fun and games, but without it going to the toilet could become an ordeal.

As touched on above, you can easily make this part of an outfit to wear out of the house, worn under something with the high sheer neck peeking out. Or perhaps over a colourful tank and under a flirty skirt or sexy/classy trousers. Aside from the choker-style neck, it is comfortable enough for extended wear; not itchy, though perhaps a little sweaty due to the synthetic material.

Overall it is a beautiful, comfortable, and versatile piece. Certainly worth every penny or more. Even if it is decidedly beige (dark cream at best) and definitively not champagne or ivory!

The lovely floral pattern and the shimmering two-tone detail. Good fit.
Colour is totally off! Nothing at all like the photos! Neck is a tad snug.
      Bottom line
Beautiful even though the colour is not as expected. Still worth a buy.
