Our Top Toys for Trans People
on 16 Nov 2021
Sex toys aren’t always specifically designed with gender non-conforming people in mind. With the majority of sex toys seemingly marketed for a cisgendered audience, it can be challenging to find one that works just as well if you’re non-binary or trans. We’ve rounded up some of our best gender-affirming toys so that everyone can enjoy what’s on offer.
Navigating sex, masturbation and pleasure can be tricky for anyone to do let alone someone who is transgender. What can be uncomfortable for some can be straight up traumatic for others but it doesn’t mean it’s not something everyone deserves and can work towards. At Lovehoney, we want everyone to feel sexual happiness in their lives - it’s why we do what we do.
Sex toys can be wonderful tools for pleasure regardless of who you are inside or out. The inclusivity and diversity we see growing in the industry is empowering; however we know we’ve got a long way to go in terms of products made for all kinds, and more specifically, trans people. That’s not to say there’s nothing to work with in this space.
We made this list to highlight the best toys and products for trans men and women, whether they are going through HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy), have had gender-affirming surgery or are experiencing gender dysphoria. It’s also worth mentioning, this list isn’t solely for this group and can be used as a guide for gender nonconforming (GNC) people as well.
Before we begin, a note on language. This blog will stick to anatomical terms for body parts in order to be as clear as possible, however we know the way people choose to identify themselves and their bodies is not so straight forward. There are many words we can use to talk about genitals but it is difficult to ensure they will be both affirming and accessible to everyone.
If the words clitoris, vulva, vagina, penis or testicles make you feel uncomfortable in any way, a browser extension can be added to this page to automatically swap out these words for something of your choice.
None of the language we’ve used on this page is gendered, however if you click through to a couple of the products, some of the descriptions used there do include minimal amounts. We’ve tried to include as much information as possible for you on this page so you don’t have to scroll down if you decide you’d like to purchase something.
Reinvented to reignite your sex life, this vibrating blow job stroker takes oral sex to incredible new levels. An open-ended textured tunnel gives intense sensations up and down the genitals, while the vibrating bullet will add that other-worldly wow-factor.
What customers say: "The overall feel of the sleeve is soft and welcoming. The texture is amazing and whilst using it the feel is sensual. The vibration feature however is something else stating. I love a toy that incorporates two great that in vibrations and something you can put your penis in."
While these kinds of sleeves were originally designed for cisgendered penis-owners, their compact nature makes them suitable for FTM (Female To Male) people as well. If someone has had bottom surgery, the phalloplasty penis may have different levels of sensation in different areas meaning you can manoeuvre a stroker like this one into the right position for you.
For those who are taking hormones which can make their clitoris grow, small, textured strokers (this one is 2.5 inches in length and 1 inch in diameter) can work well for stimulation on smaller sized genitals with or without the vibrations on. It also avoids hand contact which can help if dysphoria is an issue.
Boasting a slightly larger size than most FTM strokers, this stretchy softie feels incredible against your skin. With a textured chamber, this beauty is designed to give you toe-curling satisfaction. And at just 2.75 inches, it’s great for on-the-go fun.
What customers say: "I truly hope LH continues to expand its product line to include more products like this. I know if I had my way, I'd be designing my own range with broader colours and even perhaps some fantasy designs - because I'm that way inclined. But if the appearance doesn't matter to you, and at this point it's so distractingly euphoric, I can't think why it would, please invest. It's incredibly cost effective for the quality of experience and material delivered"
The Packer Gear FTM Stretchy Stroker is made specifically for trans men who are going through hormone therapy and are experiencing growth. With a textured inside and a stretchy feel, it can be used to stimulate the person’s genitals up and down or simply by twisting and massaging it against themselves. Whatever feels comfortable and pleasurable for you is the aim of the game here.

What customers say: "A fantastic product.....If you like the Tenga eggs I suggest you try a Geo. I'm sure my Geo and I will become firm friends"
Much-loved Japanese masturbation brand, TENGA does wonders in terms of creating toys which work amazingly well and are non-phallic in design. Like the other strokers we’ve mentioned here, this masturbator has a ridged texture and is elastic for enhanced sensations. It can envelop phalloplasty penises and smaller hormonally grown penises as it measures 6.5 inches in length but has a small penetrative hole which stretches and bounces back into shape depending on your size. See the full TENGA range here for more.
They used to sing 'when the moon hits your eye, that's amore', but now there's a whole new sensual story. Sleek and classy, this lipstick-shaped bullet thrums with 11 thrilling functions and is perfect for discreet play, either solo or with a partner.
What customers say: "Get it! I love a slanted vibrator. It provides so much more stimulation than a pointed one. The precision is on point and I’m able to reach an orgasm so much quicker"
Arguably one of the most versatile and inclusive of sex toys, if you’ve got a working hand and arm, you’ll no doubt be able to find a way to get erotic from these little pocket rockets. During play, trail a bullet vibe all over your partner’s or your body, taking extra care and time around your external erogenous zones like your neck, lips and stomach. Beware of your nipples if you are going through hormone therapy as they can be quite sensitive.
A bullet vibe can also feel incredible against your genitals if you are comfortable using it there. Pinpoint vibrations mean you can explore what and where feels good to you regardless of where you are on your transgender journey.
Slimline and smooth with a non-intimidating 5 inches to play with. Its flared based ensures safe anal play, while its suction cup base opens up a whole wealth of hands-free play options.
What customers say: "Good size and texture easy to clean and feels good"
By using a non-realistic dildo, the expectations on what a penis “should” look like is completely removed, leaving the space to focus on the pleasure penetration can bring for the user. Introduce your body to penetration with this set of silicone dilators. Slowly increasing in diameter from 15mm to 35mm, they're a progressive way to ease your body into internal play and may help reduce discomfort during intercourse.
What customers say: "These feel overall less ‘cold and clinical’ to use, which isn’t just about the aesthetics for me - the shape and material feel much more comfortable and natural than the plastic ones, and seem to be more in tune with the muscles down there than unyielding plastic. After only a couple of uses, I’ve progressed further with this kit than I had with my old plastic set in years, and the results have been brilliant (i.e. least painful sex I’ve ever had). I can’t recommend this kit highly enough."
If you take a look at the reviews for this product, you’ll find heaps of people raving about how it has helped with vaginismus, tightness and pain during penetrative sex. Inspire’s dilator kit is also perfect for anyone who is recovering from vaginoplasty surgery and has to dilate their new vagina. These easy-to-use toys are silicone soft, tapered at the tip and come with a loop for gripping and trying different angles.
While we don’t recommend using these as a replacement for the dilators your doctor has given you post-surgery, they are a great addition to the recovery process thanks to their curved design, gradual growth and ultra-comfortable feel.

The world is your oyster when it comes to anal play because everyone has got anus. With thousands of nerve endings in and around the anus, it can be just as arousing to stimulate that area and avoid your front genitals all together, especially if you or your partner are experiencing dysphoria.
Techniques like rimming and fingering can feel amazing for the receiver and toys can add an extra bit of oomph to the experience. Vibrating butt plugs and anal massagers can provide titillating stimulation to the inside and outside with some people reporting orgasms from them without ever touching their vulva or penis. This can also be achieved from toys like metal dildos which are super hygienic and create a satisfying feeling when inserted thanks to their weight.

As others have said the app connectivity can be a bit temperamental but the novelty makes up for it. Would definitely recommend"
Some trans people who haven’t had gender-affirming surgery or who suffer from gender dysphoria might find it easier to be sexual while keeping their underwear on.
