Position of the Week: Hitch a Ride

Feel like a star in the bedroom and hop on board for the ride of a lifetime. Perfect for getting your hips-a-grinding for out-of-this-world sensations, Hitch a Ride is an incredibly satisfying position and can lead you happily on your way to the big 'O'.

How?

One partner lies on their back on a bed, sofa or on the floor. The other partner straddles them facing away, with their feet planted firmly on the floor. The straddling partner can take the lead by gyrating, bouncing, or moving backwards and forwards as much as they desire.

Why?

Hitch a Ride is fantastic for exploring Dom/sub scenarios, with the receiving partner very much in the driving seat. Having two feet on the floor can also help the receiver to take charge of the pace of play.

Try

Explore your Dom/sub fantasies by using a blindfold or ankle restraints on the reclining partner. Their restricted limbs will reinforce their submissive position, while the blindfold can be used to heighten their senses and every touch. Both partners can also indulge themselves with a pair of nipple suckers for some delightful sensory play.

Make it even easier

If you or your partner uses a mobility aid, this seated/reclined position is perfect for you, particularly if you have difficulties with balance or standing for too long. Just ensure you have plenty of water-based lubricant within reach and if you are on a bed, consider having extra pillows on hand if you need more support.

Make it even better

The receiving partner can place their hands on their partner’s thighs to support themselves as they lean forwards or backwards, or to tilt their pelvis to explore different sensations. They can also free up a hand or two to pleasure both themselves and/or the reclining partner with a vibrating cock ring, bullet vibrator or even a feather tickler to tease and tickle those sensitive sweet spots.

Not the position for you?

We're working to make sure that everyone is represented on our website, regardless of who you love, so we'll be using a variety of gender depictions in our Position of the Week posts. This will include straight, gay, lesbian, and gender neutral couples, but all positions will have details in the description of how to make them work for your own relationship dynamic.
